#SLS and Orion 1:100(ish) SLS (block 1 and 1b) and 1:350(ish) Orion These models are meant to be printed with relative ease while still providing a fairly accurate representation of the real thing. The designs are made to fit together seamlessly, just like their actual counterparts. Components slide into place, snap together, or sit securely. The files included offer complete models as well as broken-down versions designed specifically for common printers such as Makerbot Replicators. Feedback is more than welcome! This project is certainly an evolving work in progress... ###Orion _From: https://www.nasa.gov/exploration/systems/orion/about/index.html_ NASA is building a human spacecraft that will lead the charge into deep-space missions, ushering in a new era of space exploration. A series of increasingly challenging missions awaits, and this new spacecraft will take us farther than we've gone before, including to the vicinity of the Moon and Mars. Named after one of the largest constellations in the night sky and drawing from more than 50 years of spaceflight research and development, the Orion spacecraft is designed to meet the evolving needs of our nation's deep space exploration program for decades to come. Orion will serve as the exploration vehicle that will carry the crew to space, provide emergency abort capability, sustain astronauts during their missions, and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities. Orion missions will launch from NASA's modernized spaceport at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on the agency's new, powerful heavy-lift rocket, the Space Launch System. On the first integrated mission, Exploration Mission-1, an uncrewed Orion will venture thousands of miles beyond the Moon over the course of about three weeks. The mission will pave the way for flights with astronauts beginning in the early 2020s. ###SLS _From: https://www.nasa.gov/exploration/systems/sls/overview.html_ NASA's Space Launch System, or SLS, is an advanced launch vehicle designed for a new era of exploration beyond Earth's orbit into deep space. SLS, the world's most powerful rocket, will launch astronauts in the agency's Orion spacecraft on missions to the moon and eventually to Mars, while opening new possibilities for other payloads including robotic scientific missions to places like Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter. Offering the highest-ever payload mass and volume capability, as well as energy to speed missions through space, SLS is designed to be flexible and evolvable to meet a variety of crew and cargo mission needs.
