This 5/16" (8mm) threaded rod-compatible spool hub has slots for easy spool change without complete nut removal. Initially designed for 2ROBOTGUY's "SIMPLE SPOOL HOLDER FOR MENDEL," it likely fits other designs too. An update resolved scale issues and added an unslotted version, which can be locked with a washer and nuts inside for simpler spool change. For assembly, drill out support from the hub's backside using a 1/2 drill bit. Install components on each side in order: hub, bearing, washer, nut, nut, without tightening against bearings/hubs. To change spools, just loosen nuts on one side, remove the bearing and hub from the rod, slide off the spool, and use the slot to detach the hub.
