Slotted open bar clamp for Prusa Mendel iteration 2
thingiverse
Open-ended bar clamp. Cracked a bar clamp due to over-tightening? Cut it off and replace it with this one, which features an open-ended design that allows for easy fitting without disassembling the frame. It slips onto the 8mm threaded rod with ease. A very tight fit is expected, requiring some careful cleanup with an 8mm or 8.5mm drill bit may be necessary. Not as strong as the original clamp, but it gets the job done. Printing with ABS material works best due to its flexibility. If printing with PLA, be cautious not to over-tighten, as it will crack. This design is identical to the original Prusa Mendel bar-clamp but features a slot cut into it.
