This artifact in the collections of Fort Frederica National Monument in Georgia has been meticulously restored from three or four sherds using a substantial amount of gypsum plaster to bridge gaps and reinforce cracks. The piece is crafted from vibrant yellow paste with crazed yellow glaze visible on both interior and exterior surfaces. The exterior showcases distinctive dark brown, wavy combed lines and a singular loop handle that adds to its aesthetic appeal. Notably, the base of this piece remains unglazed. Dimensions: 9.6 diameter, 8.3 height in centimeters, with a weight of 202.7 grams. This model is part of an innovative collaborative digitization program between the National Park Service and the Digital Heritage and Humanities Collections at the University of South Florida libraries to create three-dimensional digital documents of artifacts from Fort Frederica National Monument, Georgia. Ceramic fragments uncovered during archaeological excavations at the fort and town site date back to the first half of the 18th century, with many originating from England, Germany, and continental Europe.
