This is an improvement of a previous design of a wrist. Mounted toy slingshot launcher. One of the main issues I had when designing this slingshot was determining the distance it shot at and at what exactly was the spring constant for the elastic band. By doing some simple measurements and approximations I reverse engineered my calculations to obtain a spring constant of about 1.8E4 N/m. To make the projectiles I just cut the ends of Q-tips off and made a slit one side for the elastic band to catch. For the loop I decided to go with string instead of a backplate that needs to be screwed on. This saves on screws and increases comfortability on wrist wear. To attach the string initially thread your string through one hole and burn the end and make it flat while it cools. For the other end it is the same process but just make sure to tighten the string as needed then cut off the string after passing it through the hole on the other side. (Leave about 3mm of string to burn and flatten) The main body was printed using PP with the following print settings :Printing speed : 30 mm/sExtruder temp : 225°CBed temp : 80°CBed prep : packing tape Layer height : 0.2 mm Layer width : 0.4 mm
