Slingshot
thingiverse
I designed an 8-year-old son a customized slingshot after Miles expressed interest in having one. Miles is etched onto one side and an "M" matching the Bauhaus font appears on the opposite side. This escalated into an absolute failure. The initial print, featuring a rounded upper handle, entirely omitted the rounded element of the handle and failed to capture the spiked detail in the arms. However, it still performed reasonably well due to its even printing across that level which housed the letter M. A subsequent STL image revealed an improved print but lacked a rounded top and was printed as high as the letter on one side. To add depth to this, black nail polish was applied and intricate metal patterns emerged via the use of metallic polish in certain areas, particularly around the spikes and the 'M'. A visual representation showcasing these printing errors exists above. To overcome issues stemming from earlier models featuring curved handles that were difficult to handle and presented issues while being created with software called 'Sculpting 2 STL File Editor,' it had been amended, leading to this new version with two fixed layers that have resolved many of those prior print problems that arose earlier during printing in multiple test versions using the software that could run at any specific moment I chose for an easy process called simply just creating.
