Slingmobiles are a collection of three-dimensional printable simple wheeled toys that work with a printable slingshot track. The individual mobile racers assemble well when assembled with M3 machine screw hardware (16mm socket cap screws and M3 Nyloc nuts). The nominal wheel rims are the twenty-millimeter diameter designs, though 25 millimeter and thirty-millimeter rims are also included for experimentation purposes. It is preferable that the rims should be printed in a rigid material (such as PLA) and then the tires in a flexible material (such as Ninjaflex) to be assembled together. Rigid one piece wheel parts are supplied, but these will have very poor grip on most floors and tend to veer around instead of traveling in a straight line. Assembly instructions are included in the files for building the slingshot track. The slingshot assembly includes optional through-holes and hex nut capture recesses for hardware reinforcement. You should typically not need to use them, but if you start to see layer separation or your slingshot breaks, you can secure it with M3 machine screws. A printable wrench for assembly is available here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1174835 The slingshot track was inspired by "Zheng3 Penny Ballista":http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23464. Print Settings are: Printer: Makerfront i3PRO Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 20% Notes: The models worked well for me with a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer thickness and 20% infill. As always, results may vary and drilling/sanding may be necessary to get a good fit and smooth operation.
