Slimline TS-100 Grip
thingiverse
While I thoroughly enjoy the TS-100 soldering iron from a feature/hackability standpoint, its ergonomics fall short for those with larger hands. I browsed Thingiverse and discovered an abundance of grip designs, but after printing several and gaining a better understanding of what I was looking for, I decided to attempt designing my own. This design is analogous to the TS-100 grip by PeacePrints (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3529728), with a slight modification towards being more slender, featuring a smaller lip that makes the iron's handle feel more similar to those from Hakko and Weller. Printed with TPU/TPE, eSUN eLASTIC TPE in my case, results in a comfortable grip that also provides some protection for the iron. Key Features: - Additional material around the buttons helps prevent accidental presses. - Small holes in the grip allow for swapping tips without removing the grip using a hex key. - Small flat spots help prevent the iron from rolling on a flat surface.
