Slim Wallet with Money Clip
thingiverse
A few coworkers at my job recently splurged on the Fidelo wallet, and I thought it was ridiculous that they spent so much money. This made me decide to design a slim wallet with a built-in money clip. I collaborated with a friend to stress test and we have arrived at this current iteration, which is working out very well. I'm fortunate enough to own a dual extruder printer, which means I printed this using water-soluble supports, but don't let that discourage you - earlier versions of this were printed with PLA supports without any problems. Right now, we're currently using these out of PLA with a 50% infill while we continue to stress test. The final iteration will be printed from ABS. We just want to see how well PLA holds up to daily stresses. The strap is a simple velcro band from the fabric store. We're looking to source some sort of mesh and elastic band, but for now, velcro gets the job done. Update #1: We ended up getting an old bike inner tube and cutting it into half-inch bands. These are extremely durable and flexible for holding things. Much better than velcro. Update #2: I'm still using the wallet printed in PLA from December 2018, here in April 2020 with no issues, but will be printing an ABS version in the coming weeks and will abuse it to see how well it holds up.
