Slim FairPhone 4 bumper case
thingiverse
This is a bumper case for the FairPhone 4. It is designed to add minimal size to the footprint and still provide ample protection against drop damage. I've been using it for 6 months now and dropped it several times, no damages so far. It should be printed in TPU or other flexible filaments. I used VarioShore TPU by ColorFabb. The foam bubbles should help protect the phone in possible drop events. Sorry there's no foto right now, it's difficult to fotograph your phone, using only your phone. Will update asap. Printing, post-processing and other considerations: ============================================= My fit is a bit loose, if you print with TPU, I'd recommend scaling X and Y down a bit. Maybe start with 99%, that should be snug enough imo. There are two versions, a minimal one and one with braces on the backside to add some more rigidity to the sides. Since FDM printing with TPU can't handle frequent extrusion starts and stops too well, all holes in the case have to be punched manually using a holepunch or punch pliers. There are three holes on the bottom (mic, USB, speaker) and one on the side (fingerprint sensor) that have to be opened. I tried using an exacto knife and badly cut myself, destroying the print. Don't do that. ;-) Maybe you'll get lucky with small and very sharp scissors, but holepunches really are the best option here. Initially, I planned to remove the small round indentations as well, it's lots of work though, and I actually really like it the way it is. Printing it in PLA might work as well, you're on your own here though.
