Slim Cover for Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor
thingiverse
This is a minimalist cover for the V1.2 Moisture Sensor. The print requires approximately 4 grams of material. This cover necessitates desoldering the connector. To accomplish this, I suggest sacrificing the connector by bending it upward, cutting the legs in half and then using a soldering iron to remove each remaining leg separately. The soil sensor can be purchased on AliExpress: 10 Pieces Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor V1.2 I used the following sealant around the edges of the sensor: Adhesive Sealant Fix I employed the following sketch. I recommend conducting your own test to obtain values for wet soil and dry soil. These values appear to vary between sensors and depend on Vin (5V or 3.3V). Sketch on Github Note: I have since modified the sketch above to add more functions. I may make it available here soon.
