Slim 6 Way Wooden Train Turntable
thingiverse
My toddler is absolutely obsessed with Thomas, Ikea, and Brio wooden trains, so we went on a mission to find the perfect set of tracks. We ended up buying a Frankenstein collection, but one crucial piece was missing - a turntable. My MP Select Mini V2 3D printer has a tiny print bed that measures only 12x12x12cm, which meant none of the available designs would fit. That's when I decided to get creative and design my own slim version with just six tracks. The asymmetrical base comes in at an impressive 11.3x10.8x1.2cm, while the symmetrical base measures slightly larger at 11.7x11.3x1.2cm. The tops are designed to fit both bases seamlessly and spin with ease. With a diameter of 69mm, they're perfect for one standard train, but not quite large enough for longer trains or those attached to tenders. This turntable is compatible with all standard wooden trains from Thomas, Ikea, and Brio. Plus, it requires minimal filament - I was able to print mine at 0.2mm with just 5% infill, without any supports needed.
