Sliding Window Exhaust Vent
prusaprinters
Resin printers stink. FDM printers stink when you print ABS/ASA. My printers live in my office. I don't like headaches from toxic chemicals released into the air by my printers. You know who does like those chemicals? That F*king crow that likes to sit on my gutters and make loud cawing an hour before I want to wake up. Blow it outside and let him breathe that stuff! In all seriousness though, I didn't realize that an enclosed printer still needs to be exhausted outside - I thought it all stayed in the enclosure. It don't. Sized for 89mm / 3.5in board (aka a 2x4 or 1x4). The nub is 11mm (all of my windows had a gap of 12-13mm). The window edge side is 41.5mm - the gaps for my windows are 44mm. All of which to say, if you have recent-ish vinyl framed windows, I hope this fits for you. If you're unsure, I've included a bottom outline you can print and check. The grills are sized at 4mm because I'm really hoping most flying bugs are too big for that. Even though it's behind a screen at my house. Here is the hose I usedThe inlet for the medium fittings on that hose are ~37.5-40mm in diameter depending on where you measure and are tapered at about 0.9deg. If you need a fitting for a different sized hose fitting - hit me up on the comments. Print the body face down with supports just under the lip that locks into the window slider. Recommend something with good UV resistance - ASA, ABS, etc.The hose fitting and hatch just slide in. They should be air-tight-enough, but you can glue or tape them. There is a hole for a M3 screw in the hatch if you feel the need. Note: Pictures are from the original version that needed an ½" extra spacer that this doesn't need. I deleted the spacer and added the required width to the window frame side for this one.
