Sliding Vase Mode Cylinders Driven by Vase Mode Gears
prusaprinters
I designed and printed the concentric hexagonal cylinders (based on Vladimir Murano's video on his Desktop Makes channel) and then tried printing gears to rotate the cylinders in vase mode. I thought I would have to make a smaller internal concentric gear to make each one sufficiently substantial. But, the vase-printed gears were adequately stiff and robust so as to not need added internal support. The internal vase is 1.5 mm smaller than the external vase. They run fairly smoothly in and out.Purchased Parts (from Amazon):DC Micro Servo Motor MG995, $20 for 4 pieces. You will need to remove the servo components to revert this to a simple DC motor.
