Sliding Valve Air Engine

Sliding Valve Air Engine

thingiverse

This is a sliding valve air/steam engine that draws inspiration from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:34701 and incorporates components from my Wobbler 2.0 design. The engine utilizes two high-quality 608ZZ bearings for smooth operation. A detailed bill of materials can be found in the accompanying engine.pdf file. On January 25, an update was made to include an orientation picture that depicts how the parts were arranged for printing. It's worth noting that I didn't print all the parts at once, contrary to what is shown in the image. A subsequent update on August 27 reported exceptional performance from Slider_3, achieving a remarkable 2700 RPM. Two additional sliders were introduced by Holzmichel's suggestion on August 26, which are currently being tested for potential performance improvements. The .step files for these experimental components are included for anyone interested in modifying them. To facilitate the assembly of the eccentric, I have attached a crank_asm.pdf file to clarify the process. You can witness the engine in action by visiting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di-A5i6XyD0. A .step file of the assembly is provided for those who wish to remix or enhance the design. If you have any questions, suggestions, or need assistance with part fixes, please don't hesitate to reach out.
