Sliding Spice Rack 100
thingiverse
This is a slide out spice rack I designed a year ago before I got my hands on a 3D printer. Originally, I was going to use a drawer slider with a plastic box. However, there's a company on Amazon that makes something similar, but it's very expensive. To print this, you'll need a large printer capable of handling the basket's dimensions: 100mm wide and 280mm or just over 11 inches long in total length. The designs for various sizes are available online: * The 125mm version can be found here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3461574 * The 150mm version is located here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3415937 * The 200mm version is accessible via this link https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3415986 To assemble the spice rack, attach the top rail to the base part before installing it in the cabinet. Slide the rail all the way forward and secure it with screws. I used #6 wood screws that are 1/2 inch long. The basket is glued onto the top rail using an acrylic adhesive (SCIGRIP 16), which I find to be more effective than super glue for PLA prints. However, it does contain some hazardous chemicals, so exercise caution during application and ensure good ventilation. Wearing gloves is also recommended. Alternatively, you can use super glue. Printing recommendations include: * Print with three walls * Infill percentage: 10% to 35% * No support necessary The basket's design comes from this thing https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1928038 UPDATE: After redesigning the rails in February 2019, they're now much easier to print and work significantly better. I also included test pieces that helped me confirm the new design would function as intended.
