Sliding Plaque System
thingiverse
This design features three variations of frames that can be printed and mounted on walls using ordinary wood screws. The corresponding inserts can be either 3D text edited and printed or labeled/painted with images post-printing. The inserts slide easily into the frame, making it a versatile signage solution that can be changed frequently. Some ideas include Vacant/Occupied signs or displaying an assistant's name for quick changes. The frame designs are open, allowing insertion from both ends, or end, with a stop at one end to limit movement. There is also a split version that holds two smaller plaques, perfect for indicating above and below information. The remix includes a Split design with an arrow that can be rotated before adding text. To assemble, print the desired frame and plaque(s), attaching them to the wall with #6-32 flat-head wood or metal screws. Slide in the insert(s) as needed for customization. These prints should require no supports but may benefit from a brim to prevent curling.
