Sliding latch
thingiverse
I crafted an Ikea Lack-based enclosure for my Prusa MK2S a while back, and I've been refining methods for sealing the front of it, all locking a piece of acrylic firmly in place. After experimenting with a couple variations on sliding the acrylic in vertically, I decided to create this sliding latch to simplify things and make them less awkward. The geometry of this latch is designed specifically for my enclosure, so you may need to adapt it for yours or whatever else you want to use it for - that's why I've included the Fusion360 part. Motion of the part is decent but not perfect in that model. Rest assured: with a little help from gravity, the latch opens and closes correctly every time. I'm really happy with how it works, let me know if it works as well for you! Note: 6x M3x14mm screws and matching nuts are required for assembly, and I used 4x #6 wood screws to attach to the top of my enclosure.
