Sliding lamp for chinese lathe LD550 etc.
thingiverse
I required a light source for my lathe setup and discovered an old clip-on lamp that seemed suitable, although it wasn't the most comfortable fit when clipped directly to the machine. The only option was to mount it horizontally, which led me to create a custom solution. This is exactly what I needed: a secure, adjustable lamp that can be easily positioned left or right by pulling it into place. This design should work with various lathe models, including popular Chinese-made versions sold under different names and brands. The holder features a compartment for wire connections, which can be covered with a simple glue-on cap once the cables are secured. Two 3.5x25mm wood screws are required to attach both parts together, while a third screw (3.5x8mm) secures the lamp within its housing. The third image shows my suggested approach for mounting a switch on this lamp setup.
