An educational sliding block toy for small children. Big pieces with different colors and shapes with animal silhouettes hidden beneath.

I made it as a present for a one year old and she loves it.

Warning: To small kids this might look like a hammer. Make sure your toes does not look like nails.

Demo:

<oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/s7d6SKIvX1g"></oembed>

Print instructions

Additional parts needed

8 M4x12mm screws
8 M4 nuts (3mm thick)
8 M4 washers

General

To achieve optimal quality and avoid sharp edges I recommend using a small amount of elephant foot compensation for the first layer of all parts.

Bottom

Start with white filament and add a color change at 0.6mm to change to black filament for good contrast for the animal silhouettes.

Pause the print at 6.6mm (beginning of the layer) to add the M4 nuts (I used a color change to pause at the correct height).

Tiles

Add a color change at 5.2mm to print the shape in a different color.

Assembly

<oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9hokxjw0iVg"></oembed>
