Sliding block nut for Geeetech A20M
thingiverse
I'm upgrading my Geeetech A20M with a Raspberry Pi and designed a custom holder, available on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3470418, for the Anycubic i3 MEGA Raspberry Pi case by FischC, found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2754779. Initially, I struggled to fix one side of my profile because I was unfamiliar with the term "sliding block nut," making it challenging to search for solutions. To create a better holder, I used FreeCAD and designed a part that differs slightly in size from the original. Instead of using a plastic nut, I opted for a metal one to provide added stability. When printing the new holder, I encountered issues with my Geeetech A20M's profile, so I switched to my Anycubic i3 Mega and printed it successfully with standard PLA filament. Now, I use a combination of original and custom-made holders. While they work well for most applications, I recommend using only one self-made holder if the weight being held is substantial, like spool-holders on top, to prevent damage to your printer if they break.
