I needed a reliable method for measuring angles on a design project I was working on. This particular design revolves around creating a sliding bevel gauge commonly used in cabinetmaking to measure angles accurately. To fit within small spaces while maintaining usability with a standard plastic protractor, it has been scaled down appropriately. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 1 Rafts: No Supports: No Post-Printing: The hinge component of this device is crafted from filament. Assembly involves pushing a short length of filament through the pre-drilled hole to create a working hinge. I secured the filament in place with superglue for added stability, although I experimented with using hot pliers to forge a rivet - unfortunately, that approach proved ineffective. During assembly and when applying glue, apply significant pressure to compress the outer arm, generating sufficient friction to retain its position during measurement operations.
