Sliders for 2020 Extrusion and Openbuilds Part Store Solid V Wheel Kit - A Better Solution This design is an adaptation of various slider designs I've seen, offering a two-part solution that allows for mounting any carriage with a 20mm x 20mm screw spacing and 3mm screws. The front (inside) piece can be adjusted to accommodate different carriages, while the back (outside) piece features a tension adjustment screw for wheel tension. The design is optimized for regular 2020 extrusion, which comes with the Kossel 2020 printer kit from Folgertech. However, I'm not sure how it would work with V-slot extrusion. I've used the carriage design that came with the kit and added a hole for an adjustment screw on top to enhance end stop settings. Based on requests, I've modified the design to accommodate the Mini V Wheel. Although I haven't tested it myself, I adjusted the bolt axle spacing according to published diameters of both wheel types. You'll need to provide your own spacers or modify the Sketchup files for this configuration. Update: I've added .stl and .skp files for a carriage with extended belt attachment studs, which allows belts to be aligned with pulleys. Additionally, I've included .stl and .skp files for sliders that work with original nylon wheels, requiring 8mm spacers. Print Settings: Printer: Kossel 2020 Delta Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 20% Notes: There are several versions available for download. Each slider requires a front (inside) and back (outside). The components can be printed with integral 10mm spacers or without, using separate spacers of desired depth. If using the original nylon wheels, use 8mm spacers. Post-Printing Requirements: Each slider requires three 5mm x 40mm hex head bolts. The Solid V wheels come with a 5mm nylock nut. Any carriage with 20x20 spacing can be used and attached with 3mm screws and 3mm nylock nuts. The tension adjustment screws are 3mm x 25mm. Design Motivation: I believe the stock sliders on the Kossel 2020 printer kit are a design weakness. The Openbuild Parts Store Solid V wheels are significantly better than those that come with the kit. I also wanted to add support to the back (outside) of the extrusions for a more stable axle shaft. Captive hex head bolts make assembly easier than flathead philips screws.
