The slider on my favorite box cutter broke, so I made a replacement. The spring that latches against the notches was extracted from the original (broken) slider. If you don't have one, just bend a narrow strip of springsteel in half, then spread the ends out. A bobby pin trimmed to size should work just fine. FreeCAD project attached if you want to change something.
