Slide puzzle 4x4 Banff Area Topo
thingiverse
Another exciting challenge! Maker's Muse has issued a call to create a topographical map version of the classic sliding puzzle, and I'm thrilled to respond. After crafting my 3x3 masterpiece, I designed this 4x4 puzzle, incorporating a stunning topo map of the Banff area in the Rocky Mountains, Alberta, Canada. The small mountain nestled in the valley is none other than Tunnel Mountain, while Sulphur Mountain rises majestically as its companion peak. The missing square lies hidden in the bottom left corner of the southwestern part of the map. To help you tackle this puzzle, I've included a Fusion 360 file that's been taken up to the point where the mesh is imported and b-repped into a body. Be sure to disable recording history to hack up the mesh and combine it with the other bodies – feel free to experiment and ask questions if you need guidance. With a horizontal clearance of just 0.5mm, this puzzle promises to be a real challenge. I've also stretched the vertical scale of the mountains by 1.5x to make them more distinguishable – and who knows? Maybe future versions will take it even further, making the puzzle even more solvable.
