Slide on 2020 base for flexible camera mount
thingiverse
I have a lack of space between my Ender 3 printer and the ceiling of its enclosure. This makes it impossible for me to accommodate the extra height of the original camera mount base designed for the 2020 extrusion. To overcome this challenge, I modified the 2020 base from TeachingTech by snapping it onto the top of the 2020 extrusion. However, this means you will have to unscrew the extrusion and slide the base on from the side facing downwards. You can also do this from the top without removing the screws. The fit is incredibly tight, resulting in no wobble or movement when installed. This ensures a stable and secure setup. Moreover, the modified camera mount base should not interfere with the printer's maximum print height. To ensure stability, you will need to use support as shown in the third picture. Note for German-speaking users: I have an enclosure for my Ender 3 and there is hardly any space between the printer and the ceiling of the enclosure. Therefore, I cannot use the original camera mount base designed by TeachingTech, which clips onto the top of the 2020 extrusion from above. To solve this issue, I modified the holder from TeachingTech to fit into the notches from the side facing downwards. However, you will need to unscrew the extrusion to slide it in. The modified holder has a very tight fit and does not wobble or move by itself. Additionally, the holder should not affect the printer's maximum print height. You will at least need the support structure shown in the third picture.
