Slide and negative copier attachment
thingiverse
A slide/negative copier attachment for the Panasonic Lumix G 30mm f/2.8 Macro lens which I'm using to digitise old images. It avoids the tedium of setting up and levelling a tripod etc. [Update Jan 2021: added film strip holder.] The device comprises three parts: * Flange - with 46 mm thread to fit lens * Body tube - clips on to the flange. Can be rotated freely for precise alignment. * Holder - choice of three types, clips on to body tube - Slide holder standard (for cardboard mounts) - Slide holder fat (for plastic mounts up to 3mm thick) - Film strip holder It's not essential, but I would recommend opaque filament if possible (my latest print uses black filament which is completely opaque and produces nice black borders). Layer height is non-critical, except for the flange and film strip holder which should be printed with minimum layer height (I used 0.12 mm). Use 100% infill for all parts. I'm using a small LED panel as light source, but diffuse sky light should also work well. If you use an LED panel, experiment with placement to minimise vignetting (I find that placing it at around 3 cm from the slide is best). For colour-adjustable panels, use a cool (daylight) temperature.
