Sliceform Saddle (Hyperbolic Paraboloid)
pinshape
About 25 years ago I met John Sharp and was introduced to Sliceforms. Since then, I've created many paper and card sliceforms, so when I bought a 3D printer they seemed like an obvious thing to make. A Hyperbolic Paraboloid is the shape of Pringles chips. Print 1 of x0 1 of y0 2 of all other pieces (18 in total) Take a look at the photos to see how to assemble the pieces. Because of the thickness of the print, the shape doesn't flatten out as much as a paper model would, but it's very tactile and makes nice noises.
