This variation of my other Slew-Bearing features spacer-elements situated between the rolls, which have a conic shape. The Fusion 360 model allows for control over the size of the spacers and the gap between each roll and its corresponding spacer. This precise control is crucial in achieving an ideal distribution of the rolls across the track. In contrast to my earlier design, this variation offers improved flexibility in controlling the gap between each roll and the track, as well as the gap between neighboring rolls. Moreover, it provides a better means of managing the bearing diameter, which is influenced by both the number of rolls and their individual diameters. The STL-files accompanying this project showcase a bearing with 12 rolls (8 mm in diameter at their centers) and 2 mm spacers, which are divided into upper and lower sections for enhanced 3D-printability. Although the spacers possess identical shapes, they were exported separately to facilitate a smoother printing process. For those interested in exploring this concept further, I recommend watching a related video tutorial that demonstrates the use of cylinder rolls: https://youtu.be/5o4Fj8OxkB8 Print Settings: Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 Infill: 35% Notes: The use of 0.15 mm layers also yields satisfactory results.
