I'd been itching to tackle this project for a while, and watching The Polar Express over Christmas was the final push I needed. The design is cleverly split into two halves that can be threaded together - a simple yet effective approach. To make threading easier, a small amount of vegetable oil can be applied to the threads, helping them tighten smoothly. I opted for inexpensive 12mm bells and placed one inside each section. A top with a hoop is included for those who want to hang their bell, but I discovered that letting it roll freely produces a louder sound.
