Sleeve Case for Raspberry Pi B+ / Pi 2
thingiverse
This is an adaptation of Walter's design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:604915 that I created with a few adjustments. I discovered several issues while printing the cases, so I modified them and hope others will find these changes useful too. Note that I worked with a Pi 2, not a Pi Rev B. This might be one reason why I experienced some tolerance problems, but as far as I knew, the board layout was identical. I increased the slot size at the bottom of the case. The original slot had too small tolerances, making it difficult to get the card in or out once inserted. The original design had a narrow slot inside the case for connectors until the audio port. This worked initially, but by the time the board reached that point, there was hardly any room to slide the connector through without putting excessive strain on the ports. So, I extended the internal slot up to the HDMI location, allowing it to slide in smoothly from now on. I also made a last-minute adjustment by enlarging the audio port hole size. The other port holes had ample space around them, but the audio port was very tight, making it difficult to line up perfectly. However, once it's positioned correctly, it lines up well; hence, I slightly increased the size of the surrounding hole. Edit: I came across some posts mentioning that some users were able to scale down the case by 1mm without any issues. This might have been a more straightforward solution than modifying the design itself. Still, I found it to be a fun project regardless. To print this design, use 2 shells with an 85% fill, no rafts or supports.
