Sleeve Case for Raspberry Pi 4 with heat sink
thingiverse
Loved Avatar7's remix of the Sleeve Case for the older Pi's to fit the new Pi 4B, but I opened up some space on the interior to allow for heat sinks on the SoC and RAM. The Pi 4 runs quite hot, so the heat sink is really a necessity. The main case is identical to the OG except for the additional interior cut, and the end cap is exactly the same. I originally tried to make the changes by importing the STL into OpenSCAD, but found that it could not render the result without generating an internal error. Surprisingly, I had no such problem when I imported the STL into TinkerCAD and made the exact same change. Update: I've found that most of the HDMI-to-microHDMI adapters have very fat connector shells that will not fit in the original microHDMI cutouts. So I've added a second version of the case that has one much larger cutout around the two microHDMI connectors. There should now be enough room for most connectors to fully seat. Update 2: There are some discontinuities in the original model that show up as surface cracks when it's sliced and printed. (Probably also why OpenSCAD blows up trying to render it!) I've added additional material to fill in the cracks to make the finished piece look better.
