Object ID: SN5207 A stunning modern bronze cast, produced by the renowned Fonderia Chiurazzi, was created from a Roman marble statue known as the Sleeping Satyr of Museo archeologico nazionale di Napoli. This statue is believed to be a faithful copy of an original Hellenistic bronze. John Ringling purchased this masterpiece for his impressive collection and generously donated it in 1936 to the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida. Its dimensions are precisely measured at 137.5 x 81.9 x 95.6 centimeters. The 3D model was skillfully generated via digital photogrammetry using a state-of-the-art Nikon D3400 camera paired with an AF-P Nikon 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G lens, capturing and processing 498 high-resolution digital images (JPG 6000x4000) in RealityCapture 1.0.3 software. The final model was meticulously edited in Blender 2.90. This remarkable piece is part of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art Courtyard Sculpture Collection, which can be viewed online at http://emuseum.ringling.org/emuseum/objects/20136/sleeping-satyr.
