Sleeping cupid lies serene on a pedestal, his marble form frozen in eternal slumber. Greek mythology tells us that Eros, the god of desire, once ruled over the hearts of mortals and gods alike. His Roman counterpart, Cupid, shot arrows that sparked passion and love in those he touched. In some myths, Eros emerged as a primordial force, born from the very fabric of the universe itself. Others claimed him to be the beloved son of Aphrodite, goddess of beauty and love. As one of the winged love gods, Erotes, he soared through the skies on wings as delicate as a butterfly's, spreading joy and desire wherever he went.
