Sleeping Bacchante
myminifactory
In ancient Greek mythology, Bacchantes were passionate followers of Dionysus, their name literally meaning "those who rave" and often portrayed as being driven into a state of wild ecstasy by a combination of frenzied dancing and intoxication. Typically depicted in art as either dancing or sleeping, the female followers of Dionysus are often dressed in fox-skin, a symbol of their god's power. In this striking sculpture by Johan Peter Molin, a sleeping woman lies on a fox-skin, surrounded by empty wine chalices and lush grape vines. Using advanced 3D scanning technology with an Artec Eva, these digital models aim to recreate the original sculptures with remarkable accuracy. Although minor deviations may occur due to inaccessible areas or other factors, the presented scans strive to provide an authentic representation of the originals.
