Sleeping Ariadne
myminifactory
In ancient Greek lore, Ariadne emerges as the daughter of Minos, a powerful king ruling Crete with an iron fist. She falls deeply in love with Theseus and provides him with the crucial ball of thread that ultimately enables his escape from the labyrinth after slaying the fearsome Minotaur. Together, they flee to Athens, but their love story takes a tragic turn when he abandons her, fast asleep, on the idyllic island of Naxos.
