Sleek print-in-place parameteric phone ring
cults3d
My first design in FreeCAD, and my first print-in-place mechanism that I've taken completely through from conception to design and manufacturing! Two versions: * 0.5mm tolerance which prints easily but is sorta loose * 0.3mm tolerance which frankly my setup isn't sufficiently tuned to print Recommend printing on the colder end of your PLAs temperature range to reduce deformation from radiant heat that might cause gaps to fuse. CHANGELOG 2021-04-28 Uploaded new version: phonering-disguisedhinge-flat-chamferred-Part.stl Intermediate "hinge" component significantly more hidden Consequently, central "anchor" component has much more surface area, so easier to mount. Rotating hinge stabilized with some clever design, so even with 0.5mm clearance it's not too loose. TO DO Reduce hinge width for finger comfort Try to disguise the rotating hinge further by nesting it into the anchor Add pocket for 1.7mm thick double-sided tape Reduce ring height as much as design can tolerate to further flatten profile
