Sledge with a Mythological frieze is a masterpiece from the 18th century's latter half, crafted in Liège, Belgium, using wood, sheet metal, and showcasing exceptional artistry. On display at the Musée du Cinquantenaire in Brussels, Belgium, this stunning work of art was created using ReMake and ReCap software from AutoDesk. A semi-circular crate forms the base, seamlessly merging with a shell-shaped front painted in a sophisticated silver gray hue. The back is enveloped by a stylish blue fabric, adding an air of elegance to the overall design. Beneath the seat cushion lies a cleverly concealed storage compartment, demonstrating the artisan's attention to detail. The exterior boasts a beautiful imitation of reddish-brown and beige marble, complete with a delicate frieze adorned with mythological creatures set against a striking dark background. The skates are masterfully crafted to describe a gentle S movement, featuring an intricately carved openwork floral pattern at their junction. The ornate repertoire of this sled, blending elements from the Louis XV and Louis XVI styles, strongly suggests its creation during the second half of the 18th century.
