SLC Temple napkin holder
thingiverse
This is a kitchen or dinner table napkin holder with a slice of the LDS Salt Lake City Temple on it, scaled down to suitable dimensions for actual use, although napkin sizes do vary so I recommend measuring the size your household normally uses. I thought it might be nice to have some weight to this object so that when you pull out a napkin from a full holder the structure doesn't move like office scotch tape dispensers made to be very heavy. For that reason, I've included holes approximately the diameter of pennies, allowing you to hot-glue or superglue pennies into the holes if you want more weight, and using less material is always a good option. I recommend adding some felt or other soft material to the bottom of the napkin holder to reduce noise and scratches. It has a lot of detail and is a relatively large object, so it takes a long time to load and print (Cura 15.04 estimates that a high-quality print will take 5.5 days!). This is my first project, so I'm still learning how to manage the complexity of 3D models. Any suggestions are welcome. Enjoy! v2 - after closer consideration, I scaled down the width of the object just a little more. Of course, you're welcome to rescale it however you see fit in your own applications. v3 - added holes for potential weighting with pennies.
