Slat Bracket

Slat Bracket

pinshape

This is a slat bracket that holds a wooden slat for a bed, couch, or similar object securely in place. My 3D printed version of the bracket, made in black, stands proudly next to the original ugly grey piece on the right. I created this custom part because my girlfriend's Ikea couch/bed combo was missing one crucial component - and I paid the price for it when I put my knee through the furniture, an embarrassing mishap that could have been avoided. Here are the print settings used to produce this bracket: Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer Model: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: Not required Supports: None needed Resolution: A precise 200 microns Infill Density: 20% rectilinear Design Notes: I printed this model with no supports as a test of the Ultimaker 2+ printer's capabilities, but you may want to consider adding support material to the hollow section or adjusting the print orientation for better results. I designed this bracket using SketchUp software, which has grown on me over time despite its initial awkwardness.
