Slash/Stampede 2wd Axle Reinforcement Tube

READ THIS, I MEAN IT. Experience was gained and lessons learned..... From El Cheapo labs I have made this tube reinforcement for my low budget Slash Drag car. This will also fit other Traxxas models using the same axle. This is one of many economy parts that I will be releasing. Anyone can go cash bomb a rig, let's build one just as fast or faster on the cheap. To reinforce the inner axle run a screw into the center and cut off excess. This will keep the inner axle from twisting. This tube when printed right will be a press on fit. It should fit over the stock axle tube with some resistance and should seat down with some firm tapping. Once this starts on the tube there will be no pulling it off, it will have to be cut off. So be sure about if you are going to commit and press it on before you do. I used some rolled up 300 grit for the inside to partially smooth it more and give it a tiny bevel so the axle enters easier. The key to printing this tube on the z axis (vertical) it hotend speed. If the tube just won't fit speed up your hotend a bit. To be able to print this properly, you will have to have your printer dialed in where you can print a 1-1.2mm tube wall and maintain a smooth wall. Spiral vase mode is recommended, but if not you can just park all the seams on one side. Default Cura slicer parks them on the back which is preferred.
