Then bend at 18mm to form a sharp L.  Insert to the bent L into the bottom such that the tip slides into the groove and the other end is ticked UNDER a washer as seen in the photo.  Tighten each firmly, but make sure each bearing rotates freely.You could get away with only one brass per side, but it’s recommended to use two to get maximum electrical contact.  As the whole assembly sits on the rails, the brass contacts the rail top.  The brass L is conductive and touches the washer, bolt assembly.  The ball bearing is center rign will pick up that electrical contact and it too is conductive to the outer rim of the bearing. Note: for locomotive wheels that don’t have electrical contacts, you can skip the brass inserts if desired.
