Skyzone / Fatshark DVR Upgrade incl. Lipo Mount
thingiverse
I missed the DVR feature on some other Googles, so I grabbed the Eachine DVR from Banggood and tried to incorporate it into my Skyzone in a visually appealing way. As others have done before me, they've created a lock for the Lipo battery to prevent it from falling off, so I adopted that idea and placed the DVR next to the Lipo with a Lipo Checker on top of it. This setup maximizes the available space while providing an impressive array of features. Here's my solution for the Skyzone and potentially other Googles like Fatshark that don't have a built-in DVR. I purchased the 1500 mAh Lipos from Hobbyking to get the most out of them. I used the Lipo Checker to extract power from the battery and connected it to a small BEC to produce 5V, which is just enough for my needs. The BEC is compact enough that you can simply tape it onto the DVR. Another simple yet effective trick is to apply some hot glue into the speaker of the Lipo Checker to prevent electrical shock when your Lipo battery is running low. All you need to do is solder two wires from the Lipo Checker to the BEC and then connect the DVR's cables to both the video cable and the BEC as a power source.
