This Is A Step-By-Step Modification To Install Sky-Commander Digital Setting Circles On My Skywatcher 10" Collapsible Dobsonian Telescope. Print Settings Printer: Flashforge Creator Resolution: .2mm/layer Infill: 70% How I Designed This Steps Followed To Install Sky-Commander On My Skywatcher USA 10" Collapsible Dobsonian Proceed With Caution, As This Installation Requires Modification To The Base Board Of Your Skywatcher USA Dobsonian Mount And Is Not A Reversible Operation. These Parts Have Been Specifically Designed For Use On My Skywatcher USA 10" Collapsible Dobsonian Telescope With White Base. Other Models May Not Be Compatible. Step 1 - Order Required Components From Www.skyeng.com. I Ordered Two Kits, Sys-xp-4000 ($410) And Alt-Az-1000 ($60). Step 2 - Purchase A Single M10x1.5x40mm Bolt At Lowes Or Home Depot For $0.92. Step 3 - Print Out Required Parts From The File Provided, Including An ALT Bearing Coupler Adapter, Base Bushing, ALT Encoder Arm Base, And ALT Encoder Arm Insert. Step 4 - Disassemble The Baseboard From The Mount Base By Removing The Optical Tube, Then Use A Drill With A Hole Saw Bit To Create A Hole For The New Bearing. Ensure Center Alignment To Avoid Offset Spinning In The AZ Path. Step 5 - Re-assemble The Mount Base To The Base Board As Per Sky Engineering's Manual (Page 48), Adding A 3D Printed Base Bushing To Eliminate Lateral Slop. Step 6 - Attach The M10x1.5x40mm Bolt To The ALT Bearing Coupler Adapter, Then Insert The Sky Engineering Supplied ALT Coupler Into Place, Ensuring Screw Hole Alignment And Nylock Screws Are Used. Step 7 - Remove The Right Side T-handle From The ALT Bearing And Replace It With The Newly Assembled ALT Encoder Coupler. Secure In Place Using Allen Bolts, Allowing For Free Spinning Action To Ensure Encoder Functionality. Step 8 - Remove The Topmost Right Side Allen Bolt From The Mount, Insert It Into The ALT Encoder Arm Base, And Re-attach To The Mount. Step 9 - Carefully Align And Insert The ALT Encoder Arm Insert Into Its Corresponding Recess On The Base. Step 10 - Slide The End Of The AZ Encoder Arm Onto The Notched Portion Of The INSERT And Secure The Shaft In Place Using A Nylock Screw. Step 11 - Position The AZ Encoder Arm Within Reach Of The Sidewalls, Then Tighten The Coupler Using Allen Bolts. Step 12 - Route The Cables From Both Encoders To Their Respective Input On The Sky-Commander Unit. Step 13 - Confirm That All Components Function As Intended Before Securing Cables And Attaching The Sky-Commander Device.
