Skywalker 1900 wingtip & tail NAV light LED covers
thingiverse
Simple covers for wingtip and tail LED NAV lights/strobes plus fuselage beacons are needed. Added 123D files (use "Show sketches" option) should You need to make any adjustments. Print Settings Printer: Prusa i3 Steel Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0,2 Infill: 15% Notes: I used supports to get nice top finish but when printed upside down, no supports necessary. Printed with semi transparent gold PLA. Natural PETG would be much better but I didn't have one. How I Designed This Wingtips Just sand down or cut off rounded part of the original wingtip to make it flat and glue LED's and cover in place. Tail Since it's flat, there's not much to do. Just glue LED and cover in place. Top and bottom beacons Both contain two pieces - body and cap. Caps are interchangeable since both covers have same diameter. SW_motor_mount contains rounded cap and body with concave bottom and small notch for cables to avoid any drilling in motor tower. Glue cap to the body Remove one pair of legs from SuperFlux LED (one form anode, one from cathode) Bend another pair and solder some thin wires Put LED inside the cover Glue everything to the top of the motor tower. Hot glue, CA, double sided tape - Your choice. SW_belly contains flat cap and body with flat bottom. It was designed for those who do not use landing gear. Just make small cavity to make the cover (body+cap) flush with the bottom of the fuse and cut small hole for cables. Those who have landing gear might want to print SW_belly body since it has flat bottom and glues to fuse better and SW_motor_tower cap because rounded top is nicer.
