Skywalker 1900 Canopy v2
thingiverse
This is an updated take on the Skywarder 1900 canopy design. I aimed to reduce its weight and felt that the upper deck was unnecessary. We'll see if it stays this way on my next flight. To get started, print out the base plate, two side plates, and the rear plate - and hopefully they all mesh together seamlessly. I did have to take some light cuts with a pocket knife to make it work, but overall I'm pleased with how it fits. Considering I own one of the cheapest printers available and have only been printing for two weeks without any clue what I'm doing, that's no small accomplishment. My first print-out was done using ABS and didn't quite turn out as planned - let's just say it could use some work. What's more, I realized that the canopy's angle where it meets the foam fuselage could use improvement for aerodynamic performance. Future iterations will probably be dubbed V2.1 or I may get lucky and have someone with actual printing prowess create a top-notch design I can adapt. Kudos go to jointskill for originally designing the Skywarder 1900, and redsalamander for whipping up that GoPro mount that really ties things together.
