It took some time to fine-tune my SkySurfer's settings. In particular, the Centre Of Gravity and the optimal propeller configuration changed significantly from the initial setup. I had to revise my files to ensure proper propeller folding and maintain a consistent plane behavior with or without engine power. The result was a custom tube integrated into the glider fuselage where the motor should be located, along with two interchangeable motor plates based on propeller size. For propellers up to 7 inches in diameter, the motor axis remains low within the tube, and the plate is fully enclosed and secured at an angle of 4 degrees greater than the fuselage's natural pitch. To accommodate a larger 8-inch propeller, the motor plate shifts slightly backward and upward, adding another 3 degrees to the overall angle, resulting in a total of 7 degrees. This design maintains the pushing force near the COG point, ensuring an unchanged plane behavior whether the engine is engaged or not. The conception file also includes features for the cone and propeller folding limiter. Printing requirements are straightforward, except for the custom tube that needs support structures.
