The Skywire "miner" is painstakingly engineered and fine-tuned to serve as a foundation for the new internet. Its bespoke hardware surpasses technical requirements to deliver peak power and performance. Skywire operates as a "miner" for Skycoins. It functions as a specialized VPN, utilizing the following hardware configuration: 8 CPU boards, each boasting 2 GB of RAM, 4 CPU cores, and 16 GB of storage, running on 64-bit Linux (Debian), with 100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity and an 8+1 port switch. Each board features an ARM processor, 2 GB of RAM, and anywhere from 16 to 256 GB flash storage. The hardware is carefully partitioned in such a way that even if one service is breached, the other services on the same machine remain secure. The setup can be further customized to comprise 4, 8, 16, or 32 boards.
