Introduction The Skydome HDRI Brand is a collection of high-dynamic range images that showcase the sky portion of an outdoor setting. The brand typically features cloudy and detailed skies with natural exterior lighting, capturing all aspects of natural illumination without artificial sources. Description Dusk clouds are captured in high detail for image-based lighting. Only the top half of the HDRI sphere is shot, so if using VrayLight with Dome-setting enabled, leave "Spherical: full-dome" unchecked. Product Includes Main Files Three 3-step 2-EV, OpenEXR, and Radiance image files are provided in massive resolution (12948x3091). The original horizon has been removed, and the HDR has been reprocessed to remove ghosting effects. Backplates A series of backplates is included with two sets: ones corrected for horizontal alignment and distortion caused by an 8mm lens, and uncorrected pictures. A full-resolution panorama image is also provided. 3DS Max Scene File A 3DS Max scene file contains a ready-to-render HDR lighting rig and 14 high-quality Metallic Shaders. The scene is compiled in 3DS Max 2012 64-bit version with VRay 2.20, using VRayMtl materials. Prototypal Animated Backplate The updated file includes an 8-second image sequence of the panorama backplate with moving clouds animation. A 3DS Max scene file maps the 4K image sequence onto the inside surface of a sphere. Camera Canon EOS 60D /w Magic Lantern Lens Samyang f/3.5/8mm fisheye lens with 180 degrees of horizontal field of view. Usage HDR images are used in various 3D formats to produce physically accurate lighting, recreating the scene's lighting conditions. The most common target is architectural renders, but they can also be used for 3D scenes requiring lifelike light conditions. Note The backplates provided are based on images taken with an 8mm Samyang lens, then processed to remove excessive curvature caused by the lens.
