The Skydome HDRI collection is a high-dynamic range image set showcasing only the sky portion of an outdoor scene. Typically, the selected images feature detailed and cloudy skies, all captured under natural exterior lighting conditions without any artificial sources. Day clouds are meticulously rendered in high detail for use in image-based lighting. Since only the top half of the HDRI sphere is shot, when using VrayLight with Dome-setting enabled, leave "Spherical: full-dome" unchecked to prevent distortion. The collection includes: Main Files: - 7-step 2-EV, OpenEXR and Radiance image files with a massive resolution of 12411×3039. - Original horizon removed, and HDR reprocessed for ghosting removal. Backplates: - Two sets of backplates: one corrected for horizontal alignment and distortion caused by the 8mm lens, and another uncorrected set. - A full-resolution panorama image is also included. Camera: The Canon EOS 60D camera was used with Magic Lantern. Lens: A Samyang f3.5/8mm fisheye lens provided a 180-degree horizontal field of view. Usage: These HDR images are commonly used in various 3D formats to produce physically accurate lighting, recreating the scene's lighting conditions present when the panorama was shot. The most frequent usage is for achieving lifelike light conditions in architectural renders, but they can also enhance 3D scenes by bringing them from ordinary renders to a hyperrealistic level.
